New Brown Moles on lower leg

40 year old male. About 4-6 months ago my wife notices 2 new moles on my lower leg near my ankle and shin. Not sure how long they’ve been there. Neither are raised. Both are medium brown. One is slightly smaller that an eraser and the other one is slightly larger than a pencil eraser- just a bit over 1/4 inch. No bleeding, pain or ichiness. And since noticing them they haven’t appeared to change in size or color at all. I have an appointment in about a week with a PA at a dermatologist. Any thoughts. Overall health is fine. No shortness of breath, no weight loss, appetite is fine. Normal chest x-ray and bloodwork back in early January. So I’m sure worst case scenario would be something in the very early stages since it seems like the raised moles are the ones that are advanced. I don’t use tanning beds and I make sure to wear sunscreen

It does seem unlikely that these new moles are melanomas based on your description.  It's good that you're getting them checked out, though.

Mayo Clinic has some good tips: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/melanoma/symptoms-causes/syc-20374884, but given the details you've posted here, I suspect you've already checked out the signs/symptoms of skin cancer.

Let us know how your appointment goes.
