Squamous cell carcinoma, caused by HPV 17

I was diagnosed with multiple skin cancers around my groin in August, 2017.  One was removed by excision, others by a medicinal salve.  A PAP smear in September, 2017 came back negative.  Another spot showed up in February, 2018 and was removed by the same cream.  But now, April 8, 2018 I see a whole new batch of spots in the same area, my groin. I was told that HPV 17 is considered highly infectious.  What does this mean for my general health, my immune system?  I have had a cold off and on for the last 6 weeks.  I am a 75 year old woman, not sexually active now.
