spot on my nose concerns me

Let me preface this by saying I spend alot of time in the sun, as a landscaper, but I usually wear sunscreen. This summer I got a pimple on my nose, and it never healed. It turned into this little scab, that would mostly heal, and then reopen. I figured it was because I have allergies and blow my nose frequently, irritating the area. I have had it since July. It was almost completely healed recently, but the spot where it was is tender and red. Last night it opened up again, and clear fluid came out. I am concerned it could be skin cancer. Is this a likely possibility? I cannot afford to see a doctor, and do not have insurance. I would hate to go to the doctor for something silly, if it's nothing to worry about, but I'm worried it could be something serious. Any thoughts?

You should have it checked out.  I had a similar problem.  It started like a pimple and never really healed....I waited 3 years.  I figured that since it was right where my sunglasses sat and that it was in a spot that would get irritated by my pillow, that is why it wasnt healing.  Finally I had it checked out.  My Dr referred me to a dermatologist.  Not the best bedside manner there...he took one look and said 'yeah..you have cancer'.  Two months later I had a surgery call Mohs to remove it.  It was just Basal cell caricinoma...not too serious. I am blue eyed and fair skinned...apparently the 'high risk' profile.  Like you I spent alot of time in the sun just trying to get some colour...any colour!  Mistake!.   I have had two other skin cancers identified....squamous cell on my leg removed in August and one near my eye that will be removed in January.   Get it checked out...you cant put a price on health.
