I've basically had this bump on my head for approximately 6 years (since I was ten). It has always worried me....I went to the doctor's and they said it was nothing, they even busted the bump for my troubles. But unfortunately, it returned. For at least 5 years I've done my best not to worry about it much...but eventually it caught up with me. When my mother gave me a haircut 3 months ago, she noticed that the bump had returned. It was almost like it "refilled" over time, and it was the same size as it was when I first discovered it (est. slightly larger than a pencil eraser). So I busted it myself, nearly spent 2 hours......and I managed to remove all the pus an water material stored inside it. Then, a few days later, I noticed that the spot where the bump was, started to form a lot of dead skin, and it drastically changed to a dead grayish complexion(which was something that had never happened before)-following that cued a bald spot where the bump was. I'm 16 years old, and starting to form a bald spot....something wasn't right. I gave it a closer look and found something even more strange, a tiny hole is centered in the middle of it, like a pin was stuck there. The hole won't heal....infact, I stuck a pin in it out of fear, and there isn't a hint of feeling in it-almost like this part of my scalp has died or something......the pus bump has refilled slightly, but the skin around it is still gray and scaly, and hair refuses to grow over it, thus giving me a bald spot.
Deciding to do a little more research, I scanned the web in search of answers, and best I can link it to is Skin Cancer of some sort. But technically, I can't see how this is possible, because I've never exposed my scalp to serious sun exposure, and I've had this bump for quite a long time. What I need now is some advice. From a Doctor, or from someone who knows these symptoms.
To explain the photo, I've encircled the spot on my scalp where the bump is. It's not really visible unfortunately due to bad camera qualities, but I believe the bald spot indicates where it is.....
If anyone can please give me some answers, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
