Can't get used to CPAP

I am having a hard time gettting use to the CPAP.  I asked for the nose pillow when i got the results, thinking that i would like it better,    It has been two weeks so i asked for the small mask.  I was also told that i need to use CPAP with the water.   When i wake up I find the need to take it off, then when i go to put it back  I get very anxious, palpitations or it feels that my heart is racing.  So i  sleep without it.

I have thyrothis with six nodules. had a FNA results were negative.  High thyroglobulin, not on any medication.  I found this:

  • Other diseases associated with the development of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)
o Hypothyroidism: This has been associated with the development of OSAHS; however, evidence indicates that the prevalence of hypothyroidism in patients with OSAHS is no higher than in the general population, and patients with OSAHS should not be routinely screened for hypothyroidism, except possibly elderly women.

I am 55 years old and my questions is:  is there any study to back this up.  And any suggestion regarding the use of CPAP.  My pressure is 6  and set to reach it in 30 minutes..

There's a lot of controversy about the connection between sleep apnea and hypothyroidism. We do know that obstructive sleep apnea can lower suppress your thyroid functioning, and low thyroid levels can cause you to gain weight, which can aggravate sleep apnea. It's the chicken or the egg problem. In general, by treating the obstructive sleep apnea definitively, thyroid levels can return to normal in some cases.

Getting used to CPAP masks can be challenging. There are a number of possible reasons why you're having trouble, and that's avery long discussion. There are a number of good online resources like sleepguide.com and CPAP.com, where people who have gone through what you have can help. Good luck.
