Hallucinations after taking up

For the past week, I've been waking up in the middle of the night to my dog licking my ear. At first, that may sound normal, but he is in the living room while I'm in my room. It would always start with me getting annoyed of his slobbery tongue in my ear followed by me getting off my bed so he could stop, but he disappears everytime I get off my bed. I'm convinced it's some kind of hallucination but I could be wrong.

I suspect this particular dream or whatever you want to call it will soon resolve on its own.  It may be replaced by another wake-up though, so the key is to try to live as much as possible a sleep-supportive lifestyle during the day -- which tends to strengthen your sleep at night.  Check out CBT adult sleep training programs, they are the gold standard.
