How this happen?

Two nights ago I had this dream that felt so real I didn't even know I was sleep until my mom woke me up and she said it took me 30minutes to get up, because when I woke up she was crying; she said she thought I was dead. My mom thought because that happened, I was stressed and she told me not to mess with the computer so I couldn't ask for help. Now I am in therapy after school for an hour. Has this ever happened to you before? And is there any explanation for what happened?

Hi genious08, how are you doing? Relax! Occasionally one may get a deep sleep where in you are physically inactive requiring a deep stimulus to wake you up. A totally tired and exhausted body at end of day due to hard and stressful day might reason. It is common to get such dreams and hence need not worry. Do yoga and meditation to come over the stress. Avoid sleeping late night and a bulky spicy meal. It would be better to get your sister evaluated by a sleep specialist and an ENT doctor for her snoring problem as it is causing you both sleep problems. Take care and share your thoughts.

You have been missing sleep lately with your sister and you've had lots going on with school and things changing. Any chance you had finally crashed that morning and was sleeping so hard due to being over tired? If you were dreaming in REM when she woke you up it could create a bit of brief disorientation as your brain transitioned from dream to reality. I bet your mother being scared like that has let her see how much your sister's problems are affecting the both of you.

I wouldn't be concerned that anything was "wrong" for this to have happened in view of your recent sleep disruption. In the event you have recurring issues even when life is less stressful and more restful, consider if you too need to be evaluated. Sleep disorders can run in families.
