I am a new CPap user

I am waking up with terrible marks on my face that don't fade for hours from my mask! Also the noise from my own breathing makes it almost impossible to fall asleep. The nurse is coming back tomorrow to try to fit me with a better mask. I have been reading lots of reviews and am not being very incouraged by them. I slept in the spare room yesterday and my husband said he came in and said the air pressure was very noisy!
I am getting really depressed over this. I have panic disorder and this is difinetly not helping. Please can you advise me! Is it going to get better?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament. Masks if too tight can leave marks on the face. There are different types of masks, chose the one which best suits you. Masks can give a claustrophobic feeling to certain individuals. You could start by trying them for very short periods and then increase the timing as you get more comfortable. Alternatively, you could try BiPAP, which is a bi level pressure device, which regulates according to inspiration and expiration, and hence is more comfortable.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Thank you so much for the help about the cpap. I hope today I can get one that works for me. I could not sleep but about 4 hours. This is wearing me out. It is good to know I should not have mazrks. Take care.

It took my husband a couple of fittings before things were good.....You are not suppose to have marks on your face, and depending on your device, My husbands is really quiet....when it isn't it needs adjusting.
