Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are classical of duodenal ulcer. Food is usually well emptied by two to three hours after meals, but food-stimulated acid secretion persists for three to five hours; thus, classic ulcer symptoms occur two to five hours after meals or on an empty stomach. Symptoms also occur at night, between 11 PM and 2 AM, which is due to maximal acid secretion.
The measures you need to take are,
-you should stop taking spicy food, vinegar, alcohol, cigarette smoking if present.
-A 24hrs gastric pH and urease breath test with endoscopy will help to substantiate diagnosis.
-Antacids and proton pump inhibitors will reduce the acidity for which consult a physician.
I suggest you to consult a physician. Take care and regards.
This is a great problem, I get sth like a kick on my stomach and I have to wake up even if I'm in the middle of a dream. It's really annoying but I belive that it could be for several reasons.
***Taking drugs(medicine)- if you're taking drugs you;ve gotta be careful for the sideeffects.
***Working too much. - If you;re working too much either physically or mentally and working extra hours, youve gotta do sth to get all the vitamins and minerals to get you by for the day.
***Not eating well at night - As I said if youre working hard and are not having a good night meal your body will demand for more food and you mnay have to wake up in the middle of the night.
*** Other sleeping disorders
Solutions:
Eat a very solid and non threatening meal for your stomach at night. Threatening meals may include fatty foods, pizzas, hamburgers and other junk foods. Careful with some fruits too, because they may be very acidic or too fresh for your stomach.
I find grapes to be the best at night! Also try papaya and apples and maybe pinaple too.
Try drinking a full glass of water or chamomile tea.
Also beverages like gatorade are very thirst quenching and also calm your stomach's acids.
If none of this works you may have a more delicate condition which may require you to use lanzoprazol or omeprazol but there are other natural digestive regulators which would be better.
Good luck!
