Hi,
A good sleep hygiene, as mentioned by the other members of the forum, is very important to promote healthy sleep and daytime alertness. Stress and emotional issues may play a big role in the development of primary insomnia. Try to relax and do things that relieves your stress. Avoid napping during the day and avoid stimulants such as coffee and chocolates too close to bedtime. Vigorous exercise may also be done in the morning or late afternoon and a relaxing exercise, like yoga, before bedtime. Stay away also from large meals close to bedtime. Establish a regular relaxing bedtime routine. And try to avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. If this persists, it is best that you see your doctor or be referred to a sleep specialist for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
ive been told that its down to stress at home, because of being tired during the day you feel angered easly. have you tried calming music when you sleep? at your age it shouldnt be as bad as it is also try drinking something warm that hasnt got much caffeine in it or even having a soothing bath before bed these can make you feel more calmer and feel like sleeping.
If it were just staying up late then sleeping in it would be one thing, but waking up 6 times a night indicates a problem beyond just being off schedule. Are you on a meds that could cause sleep problems? Are you drinking caffeine late in the day? There are sleep disorders that cause frequent wakings, like sleep apnea and limb movements. If you are symptomatic of either of those, a doctor could help you pinpoint the problems.
I have been having literally the same EXACT issues. I hope there is some way of getting out of this without sleeping all day long. I've even tried meditation and yoga but nothing seems to work for me, I actually seem to completely wake up at around 7 at night.
