Is There Something Wrong With Me?

Just recently I have been having some sleep problems of my own. I have been suffering SOME depression after going back to New York after visiting Toronto for a few days. At Toronto, I felt like I slept like a "normal" person. Now I don't.

The problems I'm facing are trouble going to sleep, and then trouble falling asleep. These issues may not seem severe, but they are to me. When I go to sleep, I feel tired and sleepy. However, it'll take about 5 minutes after I close my eyes before I can even start sleeping. At Toronto, I felt that I just slept immediately. That's not the only sleeping problem I get before I actually sleep. My chest feel squished or something like I'm having uncomfortable stress when I lay to the side. I feel less of that feeling when I'm facing straight up. I also feel really hot all over my body. Like I'm having a fever, but my doctor and I checked that my body temperature was okay, and my blood pressure was also. I never faced this problem in Toronto...

Whenever I wake up from bed, I kind of feel a bit sleepy (everybody has this sometimes - not a problem). However, I can't go back to sleep again. I want to, but then I feel all of those symtoms before going to sleep.

My question is, what is causing this and should I go see a doctor again. I just want to feel like what I felt back in Canada, good sleep.

You're only 12 years old and you are worried that it takes you more than 5 minutes to sleep????

WOW.  I wish I had your 'trouble.'  Consider yourself lucky.

you state: "However, it'll take about 5 minutes after I close my eyes before I can even start sleeping."

I consider you very lucky.  The medical literature states that if a person has not fallen asleep within 20-30 minutes upon laying down, to get up and do something.  I don't find your "5 minutes to go to sleep" a problem at all.  In fact, if you read my post, I'd say I'm quite envious of your sleep hygiene.

Sounds like you had such a good time in Toronto and are getting back to living in NY well it is Normal to feel t his way each time I visit I get the same and I am tons older than you, I call it feeling "Disorientated" it only takes a day or two, but you may feel the same next time you go anywhere its simply your mind and your Body adjusting, dont worry about it think of what you are doing now.

In addition to that, it seems that I almost always wake up in the early stages of the morning between 6-7:30 even though it seems that my body wants to sleep till 10 or 11.
