masks for CPAP machines

My husband uses a CPAP machine and for 5 years was very compliant. He began having trouble with the mask cutting into the bridge of nose. He has tried different masks, nasal pillows; I think everything that is available. He cannot get a good seal with any of them except the one taht cuts into his nose.
Bandaids have not worked. Does anyone have a suggestion to protect his skin without compromising the seal. We would greatly appreciate any input.
Thank you
Chris

I have had excellent luck with the Resmed Mirage Quattro mask.  It has a knob at the top of the mask that adjusts the pressure against the forehead and nose.  I wake-up without redness or cuts on the nose.  It is a full face mask which is a concern if you're using the nasal CPAP.  I was getting redness and cuts when I first started using CPAP but it turns out that my mask was too small.  Once I went to a large Mirage Quattro, the bleeding stopped.  If your husband is using a small or medium mask, he may want to look at a large one.

Best of luck.

One mask I had it helped to get the moleskin in the foot products section of the drug store and cut a piece off and adhere it to the mask at the point of irritation. Depends on if the material at his mask point is ok to put it on without damaging the mask. If this is the same mask he used those 5 years, does it need replaced or a different size? There is a site that gives tips for tweaking masks that's called cpaptalk. Sounds like if he's leaking with a lot of different masks, particularly the pillows ones, he could benefit from an extra strap added for stabilization and if that doesn't help, a size larger pillows. I haven't used a pillows mask yet that didn't need an extra strap to keep the pillows from shifting thus leaking.
