Hello and hope you are doing well.
Whether you sleep is adequate or not and to assess if you have a sleep disorder, you can rate using a epworth sleepiness scale. It gives a score on 10. You could be having an entity called delayed phase syndrome, where in the biological clock is reset and occurs late. It is a circadian rhythm disorder. There is a circadian rhythm for all living organisms. It is a 24 hour cycle rhythm and the biological clock within that individual adapts to this rhythm. This can be reset by bright light therapy, sleeping pills and sometimes by sleep debt. In sleep debt, though you happen to sleep late, you condition yourself to get up early; this in turn will help you to sleep early. So, try this, but if your symptoms still persist, I would advise you to discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician who may then refer you to a sleep specialist for further evaluation.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Problems falling asleep at night. It's like all day long I want to sleep, have had the occasion where I just drift off completely even while doing work, or driving. I have no energy whatsoever. When night time comes I seem to have all this energy out of no where and end up not wanting to sleep, or just have a hard time trying to get off to sleep. Lately I have been waking up a lot in the middle of the night, and again come day time all I want to do is sleep. It's like my sleeping pattern is in complete reverse and I never really did anything to make it that way. Lately it's just been getting worse and worse, no improvement, that's why I wanted to look into it because it's affecting my over all state during the day. Low concentration, unable to stop yawning, not being alert, and just episodes of drifting off completely, sometimes not even realizing it or remembering doing so. Now it's also gotten to the point where I can't determine whether I had dreamed something, or if it was something that actually happened and I thought it was only a dream.
What are your specific problems???? Problems falling asleep, waking up, staying awake???
