Zoloft (50 mg)

After taking for just a couple weeks, my appetite went to crap, but mostly, I started to feel like a "crackhead" and my sleep went from six hours, to four hours, then to two.  I became sleep deprived, lost weight and actually felt like I was doing crack, even the sniffles.  Just yesterday, after calling my doctor, he called in something for me to help sleep (Trazodone 100mg) and I slept for nine hours and felt like I had a hangover.  This morning, I only took half of my Zoloft.

Hi, welcome to the forum, zoloft contains sertraline which is a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor used in depression. This drug is known to be associated with insomnia in some individuals and sleepiness in others. The drug takes around 2-4 weeks to take its complete effect or to control depression. I suggest you to adhere to the prescribed drug.

You need to go for morning exercises and work out which will make you fresh and active all day and tiredness at the end of day will help you to induce sleep naturally.
Pharmacological therapy includes short course of appropriate sedatives and Hypnotics against prescription. Benzodiazepines (against prescription for short term) are effective in sleep disorder and help to maintain the sleep. I suggest you to consult sleep specialist. Take care and regards.
