When I drift into sleep, within 45 minutes I wake up with left arm (always left) and hand completely numb, as well as my head being numb . I am awoken by a violent jolt in my heart (feels like sudden death) and it forces me to shoot myself upright like a bolt of lightning, and I have to rip my APAP mask off. The heart starts to race, and the head/brain feels like it is finally getting blood. My Blood pressure is usually 180/100 at that moment, but then after being awake for 20 seconds, it goes down to 120/70 (which is my normal). My oxygen levels are usually 91 to 93% at night (I have a pulse-omiter) and what I feel in my instinct is a tremendous lack of blood flow to the body. What is also very concerning is my heart rate is in the low 40's at night.
This happens about 3 or 4 more times until around 5am, and then I can stay stead asleep for another 4 or 5 hours.
I have brought my APAP machine in and the Sleep Specialist said that the machine is not reading much apnea, average 2 per hour. I am curious what could be causing this issue.
