Hi, hope your husband is feeling better? As said earlier a bad breath can be caused due to bacteria in mouth. So oral hygiene is very important to be maintained at high standards. Regular brushings, clearing of any food particle stuck, properly being treated for any gum disease, caries tooth, preventing plaque formation, chewing sugarless gums to increase saliva production, rinsing mouth frequently holds key to preventing bad breath. Take care and update on your husbands progress.
Hi, how is your husband keeping? Bad Breath (Halitosis) can be sometimes very disgusting to other people who might be in close contact with the individual actually suffering who may not be able to sense the same bad breath. Bad breath might be caused due to some of naturally occurring bacteria’s in mouth, which releases a byproduct called volatile sulphur compounds. Very rarely diseases of oral cavity cause the same. This can be avoidable if proper oral and dental hygiene is followed regularly. Brushing teeth daily, doing mouthwash after meals particularly at nights, avoiding smoking, alcohol and too spicy foods can be helpful. You can get your husband evaluated by an ENT specialist as said earlier and also a dental check up for dental hygiene. Take care.
Bad breath and thick saliva can be a symptom of a yeast overgrowth in his system. please check out " candida yeast" on any search engine. The snoring may or may not be related.
Hi, Snoring is common, especially among men and menopausal women. Although it is linked to Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), many people simply snore and are not suffering from OSA. It may arise from one or more problems like low muscle tone in tongue/throat muscles, which can be exacerbated by alcohol/drug use, bulky throat tissue (e.g., large tonsils or large uvula), obstructed nasal airways when the nose is congested due to a cold or allergies, anatomical problem within the airway, obesity etc. Snoring can often be alleviated by increasing humidity in bedroom, taking care of any allergies, doing regular exercise, reducing weight, sleeping on to side (rather than back), by avoiding smoking, alcohol and sleeping pills. It can also be controlled with over-the-counter antisnoring devices such as Breathe Right nasal strips. In severe cases, a corrective surgery can be performed to modify shape of the airway. I would like to suggest you to get your husband evaluated by an ENT specialist if nothing is working and causing you both discomfort in sleep. Take care.
