Pain in lungs immediately after smoking

Hi I am 21 years old . I have started smoking a year back and I was smoking nearly five times a week . From past one week , I am experiencing pain in some portion of my left lung(towards the center ) mostly immediately after I smoke  and even somtimes in between also I experiece the pain(not so svere)  . I am bit afraid of going for a lungs checkup :( Can someone please tell me Is it due to smoking and how harmful is it .
PS : I have almost quit smooking

I stopped smoking 9 days ago and I did smoke for 32 years and this is my second time stopping and what got me to go back to smoking the first time was the pain on my lungs. It was so bad. But now I have COPD, asthma so I have no choice die or stop smoking
