What is this?

Hello, this is my second post and just a simple questions.

whenever I don't smoke my morning cigarette ( because I don't feel the craving need if I start doing something ) after few hours I start coughing huge amounts of brown liquid which is disgusting and feels horrible. The time from the last cigarette until it begins is usually 12+ hours. i've had this when I tried to quit without wanting to, but got back to smoking and it stopped. Now I smoke the morning cigarette just so I don't cough that horrible thing, it's as if I cough a cup of disgusting coffee ( through the period I cough a lot ).

Just wanted to ask is this a bad thing or a good thing? because for sure I don't feel well, I feel worse than having a chronic bronhitus or how you spell it.

More info : smoking for over 12 years, changing brand depending on price ( smoke as cheap per quality as possible )

I've found that when I quit or even cut back on my routine a gross, and very productive cough always follows.  It doesn't last forever, and I believe it's definitely a good thing. As smokers, we have been slowly destroying the cilia in our nose and throats. When we quit those tiny little hairs start to replenish themselves, grow back, and begin to clean up our airways. This process can often lead to a cough that can last for months.  Drink lots of water, keep some cough drops around, and try and think of the cough as a reminder that your body is thanking you for a chance to heal.

Good luck!

Oh, that makes sense. Even though I drink 2+ L of water daily due to excersise I still smoke and probably won't quit untill I at least finish my studies, but thank you for the comment!

Okay thank you, however pure tabacco is strong, and I enjoy medium ones ( like 7/0.5/6 etc. But thank you for the advice!

Marlboro is not a better brand, but a well-advertised brand. And it has all the additives I mentioned and is absolutely vile.  I see you are in France and I do not know what is available there. All I can suggest is that you look for pure tobacco. If you have tobacconist shops there you can buy loose tobacco and roll your own. That is what my husband did. I was more impatient and bought Nat Sherman's.

No, I think you misunderstood, I do buy the cheapest PER QUALITY, I buy the best quality for the cheapest price. If you know ciggaretes like wall street, more, partner, those are the ones I smoke, and I defenitely didn't see any burners in them, you can smoke them for 10 minutes if you smoke slowly. I knew what you meant and and since in my country the ciggaretes I smoke are only 2-3 Euros compared to better brands like "Mallboro " Or "L&M" which cost up to 5 euros ( in my currency it's extremely expensive, you could buy a killo of meat with that ). But yea, guess I'll either stop completly and cough all my life or continue to smoke and die of a lung/heart/blood disease or something like that.

Thanks for the info, I thought it was something what I read about quitting ( when fibers or something revive or something like that ). guess I'll try to spend a tad more on ciggaretes.

The stuff you are coughing up is the result of smoking, and probably the brand you smoke makes it worse. Cigarettes nowadays are not just tobacco, but are loaded with additives including saltpeter to make it burn faster. When I was smoking I bought only Nat Sherman cigarettes. No additives. No burners. I am not recommending that you continue to smoke, but you are making it worse because of what you are smoking.
