It is possible to get approved the first time applying.
After 4 grueling months of putting my life in limbo waiting for a determination on SSDI, I finally heard this morning that I have been approved! What a weight off my shouldlers. Oh, what a releif!
Oh, I have already made plans. I moving to Aransas Pass, TX and I have found a cut little one bedroom cottage about 4 miles from the beach...not really close enough to walk but close enough to drive. I am so happy to be able to plan something in my life. Congrats to you too!
Congrats!! That's pretty much the same timeline that my application took to be approved by Social Security! There are a lot of people on here saying that people should hire attorneys, etc, b/c that is the only way to get approved but I think both of our cases prove that wrong. It's really just a matter of each person's situation, the treatment they've already received, doctors supporting documents of how the disability has interfered with your life to the point that you cannot work at any job, etc, etc.
