Vocal cord repair...

I have a dyfunctional vocal cord. It has been treated and allows me to be heard when talking. My speech  is now very impeded. I consider the symptom a result of a brain injury (right sided anterior parietal? arterial hemorrhaging - ICH). What can be done to improve my speech ability. I was never a real conversationalist/talker. Thanks.
