I think, persons do not think that spirituality group can deliver any thing spiritual and give serenity. I believe, this must be the reason to research more and more to find solution of the problem by taking more interest in a group like spirituality. To be spiritual means to have more vibrant life.We will have to go deeper and deeper inside us. And to do this we need help from group like spirituality group. On home is trying to revive this group. I understand Margypop has come back to MH. I wonder whether OMhome has invited her?

I think if you post interesting things related to spirituality, people will see that and begin posting.  Even if not too many people are posting at first, eventually more and more will if it is a positive group experience.  So, post and see what happens.

I think every one knows what is good for himself . It is so obvious but still we miss it. No body needs Guru to learn. No body needs groups to improve. Only strong intention is required and start the work.
If we are caught up in any dilemma, just think what my mother will say about this work. This questioning will give you right answer.Intention is greatest of all.

I hope some more member comment on my post so that we can have broader discussion. This probably gives appropriate importance to every one without judging them. Any way discussion can be fruitful.

Your post is interesting!  I do think that many know what is good for themselves and the important thing is that they find peace within.  Oh, searching for peace is so important.  So many live with such inner turmoil.  I've counted as one of my greatest blessings that I have always had a peaceful nature.  I attribute it to my higher power and I guess my nature.  I get riled up but overall, have a wall of peace that doesn't let a lot in.  when I see those I care about suffering, I pray for their peace.  That's the first thing I pray for because when you have internal peace, you  can get through the troubles of life much better.  I know the times in my life that I had to work to find my peace.  Oh, so hard.  And I know that for some, they never find it.

Now, I agree about strong intention.  If you have the inclination and desire, we can achieve things lots of the time.  And some will need a Guru and some will not.  Some will need a group to spur ideas or to cheer them on and some do not.  It's good to have options.

I like to expand on what I know.  I don't like to argue about sacred things.  So, I enjoy reading things.  I enjoy trying new things.  I had someone 'teach' me how to meditate.  Sounds silly but I didn't quite get the concept.  It was hard to quiet my inner voice. So, when I followed directions specifically, I was able to do it.  It did not become something I do much---  but I'm aware that I can use it if need be.  It was good to have someone walk me through how to do it and that was another med help member.

Well, I've rambled away here.  But you asked for discussion that relates to your post.  I gave some thoughts that just came to the surface and apologize if I missed what you meant by your post.

In the end, I really hope all can find what moves them and motivates them to find peace!

Thank you for your sharing your thoughts.I do copy an article on decluttering our mind and create a space in our psyche.
The Good Life  Issue 111
How cluttered is your life?

"Most people’s lives are cluttered up with things: material things, things to do, things to think about. Their lives are like the history of humanity, which Winston Churchill defined as “one damn thing after another.” Their minds are filled up with the clutter of thoughts, one thought after another. This is the dimension of object consciousness that is many people’s predominant reality, and that is why their lives are so out of balance. Object consciousness needs to be balanced by space consciousness for sanity to return to our planet and for humanity to fulfill its destiny. The arising of space consciousness is the next stage in the evolution of humanity. Be aware of your breathing. Notice how this takes attention away from your thinking and creates space.”

It’s kind of a heavy paragraph, but it speaks to the need to fill our heads with thoughts, and our physical space with things.

Staying in the present moment and not allowing yourself to be encumbered by “stuff” is what makes a person feel happy and peaceful.

Most of us treat the present moment as if it were something to be gotten through on the way to something better. It’s seen as a means to an end, as if this moment were less important or fulfilling than the moment when… (you get that new job, move to a bigger house, marry your perfect partner, etc.)

We aren’t happy with what we have, so we look past what we have and desire something better. But shortly after we get that thing, its luster fades and we’re on to the next “must-have” that promises to make us happy.

In the process, we lose sight of the precious moment we are living in. We fail to see the subtle beauty. We are in too much of a hurry to appreciate a kitten’s snoring and we don’t slow down enough to fully appreciate the drawing a child has made. We are so absorbed in finding the ways and means to obtain another “thing”; we look forward to experiences; and of course, the other half of our thoughts is in the past… trying to relive past glory, wanting to undo pain, and wishing that mistakes could have been avoided.

We still aren't here. I don’t want to get into too heavy of a discussion here on our purpose and our true nature - I just want to put the idea in your head that “less is more” - less things, less thoughts. The space between them allows us to be fully present and living in the moment.

You can start by de-cluttering your physical space. Whenever you’re hesitant about donating or throwing out something that you don’t use and doesn’t give you joy, just remember, you had to pay for that item once through your hard work - and you are STILL paying for it now, with energy, and with even more work because you need a place to store that thing. Create more space in your home by getting rid of things - and you’ll feel physically and energetically lighter and more free!

Then, in meditation, practice de-cluttering your mind. Try this: use the breath to create space between thoughts. Let’s say you’re sitting and observing your thoughts. As a thought finishes (for example, “I need to get to the post office today,” bring your full attention to your breath. Inhale fairly loudly through your nose - listen to the breath, drown out any thoughts; exhale - again, listen to it and feel it fully - and then let your mind start rambling on again. Allow only one thought, though, before you return to the breath focus. This is a great way to realize that you can have space between thoughts; that your thoughts don’t have to be a nonstop torrent that goes from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep.

And in that space, there is peace and quiet.
