The Hayride..by Beau
Ah, the excitement of a warm summer evening..it's hayride time and the wagon is leaving...Everyone's laughing with contemplation..of what's waiting ahead to be their elation...The gentle gust of a refreshing breeze..is flowing through majestic cypress trees...Ancient moss laced round the youthful leaves..sway in the wind with such an ease...Snow white cotton flavors the fertile land..that outlines meandering red river sand...Now, horses pulling the wagon step out..and everyone cheers and lets out a shout...The lovers hide romance under the hay..while children laugh and sing and play...The stars will soon be shining bright..exposing a beautiful heavens' delight...The ride will be a wonderous show..of natures beauty, and all should know...They will be viewed by curious creatures..the Creator designed with wonderous features...The deer, fox, rabbit, raccoon..will all in the dark shadows loom...Coyote yelpings will fascinate all..while whippoorwills sing their mating call...All are smiling as the ride begins..everone wishing it will never end.
Oh margy, you just have to go on one! Surely someplace where you live they offer them. Its so much fun sitting on hay bales, (but they are dusty so bring a blanket to sit on) seeing the beautiful farmland, and the smell is heavenly.
I have never been on a hayride it sound really homey and fun.. loved your descriptions .
