No I never knew her she was killed in the blitz of London, I heard the stories from her daughter my Mom, very interesting they were all 'Bohemians' as they called them in their day, cafe society in England , the nouveau riche ....I do know he believed in life after death, and they used to try to call up spirits ..
Oh yeah, HG Wells- everybody knows him - well not personally like your grandmother.
Did your grandmother ever tell you about the seances (sp too lol - too lazy to find correct spelling lol)
I will pm you sometime this week to tell you what these ex coworkers and ex boss of mine brought back with them from this convention in Pa....totally blew my mind! Though i am against this type of stuff, what it did for me was made me realize 'even more' how REAL the Spirit world is...
hey go pick up that cherry pie and cheescake before the bakery runs out of pies! lol Happy Thanksgiving!!
My Granma used to go the Seances'dont know if I spelt that right, in England, regularly one of the 'friends there was an author called HG Wells ...he was into spiritualism as it was called then...my granma became a close' friend
like pretending to be your grandma or something??)

Oh man, let me tell you something - an ex boss of mine was into this Spirtism stuff. It was beyond scary. Most would never believe the things that I will post, but when he told me about his "spiritual side," he was afraid I would think he was crazy and that I wouldn't believe him. But because I know all about this stuff - as a Christian- and have met others who were heavily involved with that stuff. Well anyhow he would go to these huge conventions in Pennsylvania ( I don't think conventions is the right term) and people from all over the WORLD would go there - there would be all these psychics/mediums - whatever. And he would go into this room and this person would call back his dead grandmother and she WOULD APPEAR. He would sit on her lap and talk and she even gave him these beads that were buried with her. I kid you not.
I tried to explain to him that when someone is dead they cannot come back, but when you dabble in this, instead, it is a "false spirit" who comes back and actually takes on the same image as that person that died. And its not like a "see through" Casper the friendly ghost - this person is as real to touch as you or me.
Very dangerous to do this stuff and its very real - though he was so worried I would think he was crazy. I said no, I know you saw all this, but its not your grandmother. Well he insisted it was. But anyhow, he took several co workers and the one woman whose husband had recently died almost had a nervous breakdown over it because her husband did appear, but even though she wasn't a Christian she "sensed" the darkness of it all. But it was upsetting to her because she was looking face to face with her "dead husband" and he was identical to who he was, but in her heart it all felt wrong - dark.
I was pretty shocked she sensed this because as a Christian I think we sometimes tend to think only Christians can sense "darkness" when its around. I was wrong and that certainly proved me wrong.
They all brought things back with them, which was even weirder than the things I mentioned :) so I will skip that.
Yeah, people don't realize how serious this kind of stuff is - it opens a door for things to enter a persons life. Everyone has free choice to do what they want, so I don't jump up and down if they tell me they are dabbling, but I do tell them what I know and that is that both, whether Jewish or Christian, God speaks against this stuff - Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament. After I tell them, then its their choice, but at least I let them know because some or most I should say don't know.
No that did really freak me out. And it's as if I sensed something vaguely mischievous. I kept thinking -if 'it' can play little tricks like that just about some horse race....what other little tricks could it play? (like pretending to be your grandma or something??)
Mind you, it IS possible it was some kindly old Irish gentleman trying to help out a couple of cash-strapped young 'uns. (! ha ha) But I didn't want to risk it!
ooooh I would want to try it again...go on, see what happens .
yep I believe you. It is actually tapping into the Spirit world, though most people don't realize it and some don't believe its true, but you found out it is. Its good you had the sense to stay away from doing it anymore. Thats actually good "discernment" on your part. Not everyone has the gift of discernment, and are drawn into continuing to dabble in that stuff instead of walking away like you did.
