Woo Hoo!!!

Hey, forum friends! Remember how I was telling you all about how I'd done that self surgey? Well, I went to many different forums with the same post, but, in the dental community, where my wording was more explanatory, I got the answer I had been looking for, after 23 long years! The post and response were as follows:

I removed broken bones/bone fragments from under the base of my tongue
by bigfatgrannyof5, 2 hours ago
No one will probably believe me, because it does not sound probable, but, here goes. When I was perhaps 23 years of age, the bones under the base of my tongue shattered for no apparent reason. I could feel these tiny bone fragments moving about, and the pain was tremendous, cutting me from within.

Soon, these bones had formed into a pile, so I elected to remove them myself, in order to avoid a trip to the E.R. Using tweezers, I pulled out what appeared to be yellow pieces of bone, or possibly cartiledge, followed by gray chunks of tissue. Each bone, or bone fragment was small. Maybe the size of a q-tip head or smaller. There were 4 in all, I believe. There was no blood, whatsoever, and no pain afterwards. I have suffered no ill effects from it. No affect was made upon my speech. If there is anyone who can explain what happened to the bone(s) under my tongue and what the bones were, an explanation would be appreciated. I pulled them out through the tiny hole that I believe produces saliva on the left side. There are two tiny holes. One on either side. Please don't dismiss this as  being a post from some nut job. I realize it sounds crazy., and no one will respond to this problem in any other forum.

To: bigfatgrannyof5 what you removed were probably sialolith( salivary duct stone), instead of bones.

WOW! That is awesome! You are in my prayers, buddy! I have waited 23 years for even an inkling of an idea as to what this could be. Yay, you!

Forum friends, I just have to tell you, this man has made my day. He is a dentist from Teipai, Taiwan.

After having gotten the diagnosis, I naturally had to look it up on every website, and look at images.

Thing is, I have also been told by Dr. O in the eyecare forum that I probably have Recurrent corneal erosion syndrome. Again, I researched it thoroughly on the web. Both diagnosis made mention of the fact that if you have them, you might also have sjogren's syndrome. It is an autoimmune disease.

I looked at a diagram of symptoms:

dry eyes/corneal tears and erosions
dry mouth/ always thirsty
dry skin
dry nose
Sinus and upper respiratory infections, bronchitis
musculoskeletal pain such as comes from rheumatoid arthritis
organ trouble
easily fatigued and achy

Hey forum, guess what? I recently underwent gallbladder removal for a large stone that was killing me
My eyes fit the description of corneal erosion syndrome to a T!
I am always thirsty and have a dry mouth
My Dr. said I have arthritis of some kind
I have complained of feeling that "my bones hurt" for 18 years now.

I fit this diagnosis, and my Dr. is going to quit telling me that my aches are from depression and I need to take psych meds. If he does not test me for this after it has been confirmed that my corneas are tearing, I will find another Dr.
I am so freaking happy to know that I am not the only one with this and that it is possible to push the stones out, yourself, in many cases.

I have been with my Dr. for 14 years. He never gets anything right!

No. I can't think of any more than the ones I first posted. I really am stoked about this, but I can't get appointments until after we take my mil on vacation. Her brother is dying.

I forgot to mention, Neurological problems, concentration problems, (brain fog) was another symptom on the diagram.- IF THAT'S NOT ME, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.

Acid reflux- I take meds for that and have had it severely for all of my adult life. It never improves to the point I can quit my meds.
