Hello,
My 62 year old mother had a hemorrhaging stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm on the right, front of her brain on October 14, 2011. Her bleed was very severe and 50% of patients die that night and 50% of those survivors die the next day. Since the 14th, she has been in a coma. Her body responds to ice on her skin, hard pinches done by the nurses and swabs put her in mouth. Her eyes are always closed except sometimes they open slightly while being changed or re positioned in bed. We think that she sometimes responds to our voices, smells and tastes but we cannot be certain. Anyone who has had a similar situation who could offer some advice? Keeping hope is very hard right now. Thank you.
