Brain Surgery and SKULL replacement question

My father fell from a 2m ladder on 9/6/09 and he is 70 years old. He went to the hospital to have a surgery to remove bloodclots from his brain on 9/11/09. During this period, he didn't remember and recognize his friends or relatives. Anyway, the surgery was successful. He was fully awake after 6 days. He was transferred to a rehabitation hospital on 9/24/09 and has been staying in this hospital.

1- He is able to go to restroom and walks from his bed to the bench. However, he can't seat too long.
2-He can talk and hear well. His eyes are open wide.
3-He can breath on his own and doesn't need any RV.
4-He eats 4 times a day including fruits and real meals.
5-His health is excellence and his voice is loud and clear.
6-He know people but he doesn't remember their name.
7-He understands what people say. He also answers your question acurately.

He is going to have another surgery on this December to put 1/4 of his skull back.

If a doctor criticizes him for scratching his head, he is upset. Therefore, he can't communicate clearly. For example, he talks something else when you ask him a question.

He is moody during noon time. If the food is spicy, he will tell you about it. He feels itchy. He can brush his teeth. My uncle visited him last week and went home last wed. When i asked him about it yesterday, he told me that my uncle left 2 days. His memory is good.

He has 2 groups of friends. When his 'likeable' friends visit him, he is happy and talks to them. When his 'unlikable' friends visit him, he doesn't wan to talk to them at all. He shows it even though he doesn't remember their name. Apparently, he still remembers the past.

His memory is comming back because he is upset after he thinks something. He must know somebody saying something that he didn't like. Therefore, he has this kind reaction.

1-What does he expect from the skull surgery?
2- How long will he stay in the hospital after the surgery? Will he need to rehab again after having a skull surgery?

Thank you for answering my question.
