ICU on ventilator won't follow commands

My 58 year old father had a seizure and is in ICU in a medically induced coma. He is on a ventilator and getting a tracheostomy monday morning. HE has been sedated and on ventilator and feeding tube for 9 days now. The dr mentioned they may put him in a rehab facility after he leaves the ICU. Is that normal protocol? Also, he won't follow commands

Hi, its likely he has had an intracranial bleed, must be a hemorrhagic stroke, hence the seizures. If major areas of the brain are affected, it may be difficult to revive. As your father needs prolonged nursing care, he is being shifted to a rehab facility. If his vitals have been stabilized and if there is no worsening of his symptoms you can be optimistic. Regards.
