Possible Stroke Symptoms....

Is losing balance and falling to one side a stroke symptom? I have had several experiences of losing balance and falling to my right side. Grabbing a door was the only thing keeping me from falling. I have fallen to the same side while trying to get out of a chair. I have also had several episodes that made me feel like I was standing with one leg on an incline and the other side much lower like I was standing on a hill parallel to the incline. Any info would be appreciated.

If you've had heart attacks already, you should probably see a cardiologist now that you have insurance. Let the cardiologist know about your past heart attacks, and everything else, and make it sound like you just want to make sure you have all your bases covered. While you're there you can mention the syncope-like symptoms and see what they say.

Thanks for the info....I have been to the doctor with these sypmtoms and actually had an episode in the office while checking out. The nurse returned me to the room and it was nearly an hour before the Dr. got back to me.....I think he forgot but of course everything had cleared up by then. At the time I did not have insurance and could not pay for an MRI. He knew of the situation and did not even suggest an MRI or CT. I have just recently been placed on SS disability and can now get the tests done but have not had an episode in the past 3 months. My BP is very high most of the time and have been hopitalized for a pulse rate of 198 bpm. IT is usually high but not that high. In addition I had a heart attack at 29 and two minor ones since. I have had numerous angioplasties and angiograms........

It sounds to me more like syncope than stroke is the culprit. Or at least pre-syncope if you're not fully losing consciousness.

You might want to see a doc (possibly a cardiologist, although I'd start w/ a GP) and let them know what your symptoms are.
