Regaining feeling in an arm years after a stroke

My brother had a stroke several years ago. He lost feeling in his left arm. He can move it and use it if he concentrates on it, but doesn't feel it being there. Is there any therapy that might help him regain the feeling in that arm??

Thanks for your reply.  I need to clarify that he has not lost the use of that arm, only the feeling in it. If he thinks about it, he can use it, but its the lack of any sensations in that arm that I'm researching. I would like to know if there is any therapy, or medication that could bring the feeling back.......thanks

Hello,
Sometimes a lack of blood flow to the brain during stroke can cause one to lose control of certain muscles, such as those on one side of your face or one arm. This has happened in your brother’s case also. Since the stroke attack was long ago, it is a long and tedious process and for the same your brother needs to take help from a physical therapist. Physical therapy will only help him in this case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
