Stroke Recovery

My 60 year old mother is recovering from her 3rd stroke . This current stroke was a massive one & she can not Talk or Walk or respond to commands... Her right side is paralyzed.   All she can do at the moment is open her eyes and look to the Left and stare. The Doctors told me that this is how she might be for the rest of her life. Im scared to death because she is so young and i cant picture my life without her in it .So far we have been in the hospital for a month &  I was wondering will she ever be able to talk and respond again?

Hii I am Dr Rahul
from Mumbai.  My mother had accident two months ago and she had brain injuries. Was unconscious but recovered totally in two months.  Again unfortunately she got massive let side brain hemorrhage on 5th dec2015. Today she is off ventilation, opening eyes, but not obeying commands..

How many days it takes to get cognition and other things to normal??  Your mother also had same experience but now she recovered.  I am very happy to hear it.

Pl guide as per your experience. Thanks

Curtis, I am glad to hear about your mother, that is great news and I pray that she continues to improve.
I would like to asking you to be careful about posting and telling people not to listen to any bad news a doctor might tell them. As you know there are some times when there is no happy ending and some people might not listen to the doctors and make the situation worse.

My mother is home :) She has Been home for Like 6 months Now ..She Talks ! Responds ! Shes Very Alert and She Also Eats By Mouth !!  She Has So Far to Go still But looking back at where we was before  I can honestly Say God is working on her Daily healing her ! Her Personality is back also ! She Still Can not walk at the moment but shes showing signs of leg strength on her right ! She slips out of reality once in a while  which is stressful but I know All of this will get better as her Brain slowly heals !!
IJust want to tell Everyone that If you are wonder if your love one will ever get better ...? the the answer is  .... YES !!!...Whatever You Do  (Do NOT pay attention to Bad News That the Drs Might tell you !! Just Focus on your love one and God !!!!) Talk To God Daily & Thank Him For bring your love one this far ! And Tell your Love one how proud you are of (Him or Her !!!)   smile ,laugh  and talk to your love one daily !
And watch How God Steps in ! It Might start off slow But just know that Everyday adds to progression !!! :)

Curtis,

I am sorry to say that no one can really answer that. There are to many factors that come into play. The number of strokes and the damage that was caused by them, and how soon it took before she was able to receive medical treatment, just to name a few.
Now it is just a waiting game I'm afraid. I wish you the best of luck.
