Stroke Recovery

My brother had a massive stroke with a bleed on the brain and brain swelling, he was on a ventilator he can't eat or talk he has nothing on his right side but his left side is functional and he is very alert holds and kisses my hand and he acts like he's trying to tell me something what r his chances of being able to eat and talk again...

Hi Brown_Kelly, I am sorry to hear about your brother's stroke :(  While we are not doctors, we can provide support and we are hear to listen.. but we can't give out any prognosis on conditions, I'm sorry.

Perhaps you can work to communicate with your brother with his eyes?  If he is having a heard time talking, perhaps you can ask him to blink once for yes and twice for no and see if you can get to the bottom of what he is trying to say by asking him questions.

The doctors should be able to tell you what the prognosis is, are they telling you anything?

I'm m only 30yrs old and I had a massive stroke way back May 2015,I am still in recovery,I walk using a cane and my right arm is still dead.My speech was not affected nor my memory,I am just temporarily disabled.I am willing to answer questions email me at sienna.***@****
