Possible heat stroke

My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago.  He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on.  Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did.  He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.  When he finally got home, he got on the couch and ran fever of 100+ all night.  He was bad enough he didn't try to go to work today.  His fever broke this morning from 100.5, but has come back and I don't know how to get it down.  He is trying to drink plenty of water and just rest only, staying in the a/c.  But he said he has a horrible headache.  This morning, I was told by a nurse that he probably just had a sinus headache, and after giving him sinus meds, it lightened up a great deal, but gave him them again mid-day and they aren't seeming to work, so I am at a loss of how to help him at least get rid of this headache, so he can just rest and stay cool for a few days so his body can recoup.  Thank you in advance for any help!

Would love to know what the outcome of this was. I recently had heat exhaustion, but I'm thinking it was actually heatstroke. Went to the doc on Thursday and they did a vitamin IV drip on me. Felt pretty good that day, but that night started running random fevers again. Like 104 one minute then 100 the next. I say that my thermostat is broken. It's now Sunday and I'm still battling this. It's terrible and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Thank you for your responses!

@caregiver - I would have liked to take him, but he didn't want to go!!  I do understand - Thursday when he was the worst would have been the time to go.

@threewheel - we have done the cool compresses and they help, but he said if I fix it too cold it throws him in the other direction w/ chills, so I just wet a cloth with cold running water and not use ice.  When he took his shower last night, he raised the temp some to run over his face to possibly help if it was sinuses.  I really feel like it turned into a migraine, but is not near as bad today as yesterday.  I have bayer and will see if that will help finish getting rid of it.

His fever came down before bedtime last night & I checked him a few times throughout the night and it may have elevated slightly, but I don't think too much.  He has NOT left the inside of this house since coming in on Thursday!  But I think he realizes now how it could throw him severe if he tries to do something before getting over this.  He's still weak.  Mostly, I've just been trying to get plenty of water in him, but not overload too much at one time.  He said it feels like his thermometer has been thrown off.  I guess his body will just take time to recover.  I just want to make him comfortable till we get through this.  He is eating, but not a lot.  Last night he couldn't eat, said he knew he wouldn't keep it down, but he did have fever.  He had a light breakfast this morning and has just slept all day so far.

Have you used cold compresses on his forehead?Try running cold water on the pulses. Make sure he rests and doesn't try to go anywhere. I use neurophen for my servere headaches. The best is to use asprine by Bayer. Use a steambath with sea salt for the sinuses.
Smart move to make him recouperate.

Good luck

You need to go to an emergency room. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars.
