My 88 year old mother had a pretty severe stoke almost 3 weeks ago. She was totally unresponsive when it first happened, just lying in bed starring at the ceiling. She is now able to move her head back and forth, move her left side (arm and leg) and has just begun to move her right foot a little and no movement in her right arm/hand at all. She still cannot speak even though she tries and unable to swallow. We had a feeding tube placed within the first week after the stroke. That is still there. Unfortunately, she seems to be angry with myself and my sister when we visit her. Other people she interacts with smiles and squeezing of hands. I think she thinks we are the enemy. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of behavior and if she will make any progress in her recovery. Looking for a glimmer of hope.
