How long did your headaches last after your stroke? I would really like to know.
Mine have been 24/7 during the last 3 years since my stroke and I've been having far more elaborate treatments than you described, but still suffer from them.
Hi Robbie,
Yes you did have a small stroke. Your headaches are common after a stroke no matter how big or small the stroke its. The bad thing is that a headache caused from your stroke is that there is not much to do about it. I had monster headaches after my stroke. The good news is that it will go away in time. Your brain is re-wiring itself around the dead spot and all of the extra activity are probably causing the headaches.
Here all things you can do until you see a specialist (these are all things my doctor told me after my major stroke) Take aspirin (325 mg - enteric), 3 omega fish oil and folic acid. I also drink as much water as I can (spring water with fresh lemon to get alkaline in my body). You also may seem your are tired more that usual. That is also common, so sleep as much as your body tell you it needs. That way your brain can use all its energy to heal itself when you are sleeping. Also cut down on salt. I believe these things will give you a little relief until you get to the doctor. I wish you well.
God Bless,
Tim
