girdling around the body and burning in feet

My 67 old father survived a bad stroke one and a half year ago. Luckily he has recovered well. But he has got a feeling of girdling right below his chest and around the abdomen for a year, and also a burning sensation in his right feet. When he lies in bed at night, the feeling of girdling disappears. But once he gets up in the morning, it comes back. His doctors have exhausted their measures and advised him to enjoy life, which my father finds difficult with the feeling of a rubber band binding his abdomen. Me and my family would like to know if there are any treatment or medicines that he can try out to cure the symptoms. thanks in advance for any advice!

I have similar after-effects from a stroke. I find gabapentin helpful.

My mother also sufferd from a severe stroke.  She has recovered however she is experiencing burning sensations to her left foot.  There is nothing much the doctors can do.  We found a cooling gel that helps relieve the burning sensation on a temporary basis.  If you like more information on the gel, feel free to email me.  ***@****
