Hello dear,
You probably had a Transient Ischaemic Attack or a mini stroke  caused by the temporary disturbance of blood supply to a restricted area of the brain, resulting in brief neurologic dysfunction that usually persists for less than 24 hours. The most frequent symptoms include temporary loss of vision ; difficulty speaking (aphasia); weakness on one side of the body (hemiparesis); and numbness or tingling (paresthesia), usually on one side of the body. Impairment of consciousness is very uncommon. If there are neurological symptoms persisting for more than 24 hours, it is classified as a cerebrovascular accident, or stroke.
You have to be alert and followup your doctor regularly, take youe medicines control your cholesterol and blood pressure levels, as weakness of your muscles may precipitate a stoke.

I have been experiencing numbness, weakness and tingling on my right side from my face to my feet.  I recently went to urgent care and was told that I possibly had suffered a mini stroke, however my mri was not schduled until 08/25/08. 2 months away from the day he said that.  His choose to tell me that added extra stress causing my blood pressure to elevate and me making another urgernt care visit.  If I had a mini stroke should I have not had a scan right away.
