prevention of stroke

I am 65 years old and I am taking every day Aspirin Cartia 100 milligram in order to prevent stroke and to clear the blood. Stroke happened to almost every member of my family (grandfather, father, brother).
Lately, because of the Aspirin Cartia, I got a brown-red stain on my arm.
Should I continue taking the Aspirin in spite of the stain? Is the Aspirin really helpful for the prevention of stroke? What can you advise me to take in order to prevent the fate of the other members of my family.
Thank you very much,
