stroke :/

I had what they call a stroke - it was caused by burst aneurisms in my brain. It took 9 surgeries and finally a shunt in my head. That was September. What I want to know is, is it 'normal' to feel pressure and sometimes a 'giddy' feeling? Apparently my brain will take at least a year to 'heal'. I am doing really well, but my head feels this way, and my neck where the shunt tube goes swells.. I don't know about this head and I don't go back to the professor until September. I also have double vision. I don't know what is expected or not?? any advice or anyone who has been through this would be apprecated.

Thanks for that. I am due to go to the professor who did the original surgery in September, that will be a year since this happened. I went to him once with a really bad giddy turn a couple of months ago .. It's a pain having the shunt as well, I am not sure whether that is the cause of all the discomfort. Thank you.

Hi there!

It is not normal to feel pressure or have a giddy felling, though slight pressure/ stiffness may not depict something abnormal. However with associated double vision, an evaluation may be required at this time. You may either consider seeing a primary care physician to rule out unrelated causes initially or consider an early review with your treating doctor on account of the symptoms.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
