Hello,
I'd ask, ask, ask...until you fully understand and feel comfortable as to why this is needed.
My sister cannot swallow so has a feeding tube.
After my sister had a massive stroke, days later she opened her eyes but there was no response to anything and we were told she would never ever recover, she is now looking around the room and has some recognition of us and is moving as though she's trying to speak.
Just goes to show...never ever give up.
Ask and ask until you get your answers, hope your brother continues to move forward.
Hi,
I understand your concern. Did his doctors explain why the trache is needed? I had mine for almost two months; I couldn't swallow and the trache really helped me.
