40, single and egg freezing. Can anyone relate?

My partner of almost 5 years and I were trying to conceive naturally for 6 months without success. My partner experiences delayed ejaculation from time to time. I visited a fertility doctor and he examined me. He told me my blood work was normal for 40 and I have a total of 14 follicles. He suggested to have my partners sperm tested by my partner refused and has told me that he no longer wants to pursue parenthood with me. I am devastated. We were even supposed to get married now all is gone. I am left with no other choice but to freeze my eggs at 40. I am currently taking the birth control pills to keep my ovaries from ovulating and will start the treatment in a week. I am not going the sperm donor route, I wouldn't feel right. I hope to find love again and ttc naturally again, although also proceeding with freezing my eggs. Did anyone have similar experiences and how did it turn out for you?

I am not experiencing the same thing, but wanted to express my sympathy for what you are going through. That must be so difficult. Are you considering artificial insemination with a sperm donor or are you freezing your eggs to have a baby with a future partner? Whatever you decide I hope you have the support you need. Good luck!
