cough mixture and cervical mucus?

Hi Everyone,
Somewhere along the line I think I came across an article suggesting the some types of cough mixtures are also good for improving cervical mucus production. Am I mis-remembering this? My CM got very scarce towards the end of my 6mths of clomid. I am not sure why and am wondering if there is any way to reverse this.  I would love to know if the cough mixture story in my head has any basis in fact. I had always thought that cough mixtures were to dry up mucus and stop runny noses! A contradiction to my CM story???   Any info out there???
I'm currently on day 6 of my first IUI cycle and on puregon 67iu.

You can buy the generic of Guaifenesin in liquid or tablet form. I think the tablets come in a higher concentration. (400 mg?) How it works is that it thins the cervical mucus in the same way it thins the mucus in your chest or nose when your congested. Make sure what you buy only has Guaifenesin in it, though, or you might end up taking something that contributes to drying out the CM more. Good luck! (I'm gad you asked the question, because I ran out of the stuff a while back and forgot to buy more!)

Hi i can confirm that the cough syrup is robitussin chesty cough medicine that contains (guaifenesin) only.Its in a red and black box.I have never noticed my cervical mucus ever before and this was my first month on clomid.I took robitussin every morning and evening (5ml dose).You only take it after AF has ended and stop when you ovulate.I drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning as its supposed to help CM too.I noticed yesterday i had CM that was stretchy and its the first time so it must have worked for me.I had a + OPK this morning and had a scan at the hospital who confirmed ovualtion will arrive in the next few days.From what i know clomid can dry up CM in some women but by taking robitussin it actually help to make it thinner.I use conceive plus as well its a lubricant you buy here in the uk its that same as preseed.its been talked about on here a few times.Hope that helps you honey SSBD xx
