Am I depressed?

I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm pretty sure I'm depressed. First off I know this is not that big a deal but I did a depression test and my level was very high so that is one reason. I often feel Lonley and hopeless. I feel alone. Like I have no one. Mostly at school. My two friends that I used to hang with... Well we kinda drifted apart. I usually just sit on the wall by myself. But these group of girls in my class ( there's about 7 of them) always feel bad and ask me to hang out with them. I usually like sitting by myself but I always say sure so I'm not rude but I just feel like I'm bugging them so I don't really talk to them. I usually only hang out with 1 or 2friends. Not a whole group. Also,my grades have dropped my writing especially. I ideally feel ignored like no one even cares about me. I don't do a lot if things I used to do. I don't go out as much anymore. I just stay in my room and sleep. And I often feel like at times I just feel like crying! At home or at school. I think a lot when I'm at home to. It's weird though because no one in my family has died I'm not really getting bullied I just feel ignored. I just feel worthless. I never really thought about suicide but have thought about self harm often. I just need someone. Please...

Hi, I have had problems with the same stuff your talking about since I was younger than you.  Don't trust those cookie cutter tests you get on the internet.  They make everyone seem like they have something or other.  Have you tried to talk to anyone besides on here?  Maybe one of your friends or your parents, grandparents, uncle, aunt, and so on.  If you do not feel comfortable talking to them or think you will be judged try the school psychologist if you have one.  Otherwise, I would get a professional opinion Go to your family doctor and ask him for a referral for a psychiatrist.  Do not be afraid to ask for help.  You already asked the test that you took, even though it may not be accurate.  If you need more ideas let me know.  I am not on everyday but when I get things I respond right away.

Hello. We are here for you. And we all care, and we always will. First up i would like to say that i have been told that if you think your depressed, you most likely are. And by what you have written i unfortunately have to agree that you may be. You dont choose to feel this way, it just happens, usually by a tragic event happening in life, or as you have said the feeling of loneliness or one of those unpleasant emotions we get. I understand how you feel every minute of the day, being closed up in your room, emotions and thoughts going wild...
And the girls you mentioned that come up to you, and see your upset, well they care. They wouldn't leave you alone if they didnt. Have you tried talking to any of them, because there may be one who is always feeling the exact same way. Those girls who drifted away from you, well thats life. I have had so many best friends, and they havent ever lasted. Only now in highschool are they staying with me. In every group of friends i had, which was around 3-4 there were always 3 of us. We usually ended up fighting over one another, and our relationship went down the drain. These things happen, but you have been "saved" by those wonderful girls. And soon enough, if you allow them to, they may become your best friends. I say give them a chance...
And about the self harm, i beg of you not to do it. I gave it a go when i was at my worst, it does nothing for you. Instead of the cutting, or whatever you thought of doing, I suggest if you ever feel like you really want to do it, try something else. You could hold an ice cube against your skin, i have never done it myself, but its an option. BUT only when you feel like you may start self harm. Also the worst about it, is that if you cut, it leaves a scar. I have one scar from months and months ago... And i regret doing it more than anything i have ever done. Please dont try it. :)
Also try talking to someone, if it be a friend, your parents, a teacher.... Tell them how you feel. I felt ignored at one point, and it turns out that the reason why, was because i was very good at hiding it. Putting on a fake smile everywhere i went.
Feel free to message me, if you ever feel like talking. I will help in any way i can. :) I hope i have helped... xx
