Do I worry too much or is something actually wrong here?

I've been having back pain on the lower left side for a couple of months. I'm a cheerleader and I've hurt my back in the past due to strain, but this feels different. Maybe I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, but I went googling causes of back pain. One thing I found that has stuck in my mind is scoliosis. So I looked in the mirror and took photos of my back and I think my hips/waistline are slightly uneven. Had a physio appointment today and got told I have weak hips. Is there a correlation between scoliosis and hip/back pain? Could I have scoliosis that has so far gone undetected? How do other people find out they have mild scoliosis?
