Epididymitis

Hi,

My problem is that I've had epididymitis a few times (always on the left side) in the past, but nothing antibiotics couldn't cure. Well for a few days I masterbated a lot and really aggrevated it. This time, antibiotics have not worked. Here is where the problem is. So I went in and got antibiotics, but I finished a whole course for 14 days, and the pain was still there. Only about a week after I was the antibiotics, did the pain just subside on its own. So then I didn't masterbate for another week, and then the problem came back. Then I waited two weeks and the pain was gone again. Then again, I didn't masterbate for 2 weeks, and then I did, and then the pain appears. It seems that it is always triggered by masterbation. I have read ppl get chronic epididymitis, but there conditions seem to persist. Mine isn't like that, as the pain goes away after a while if I don't ejaculate. I am wondering should I possibly wait a few months and not ejaculate at all for it to completely heal?? I'm just wondering if it needs more healing time. I don't mind at waiting months for it to heal up, its just that I don't want to have to worry about experiencing pain after every ejaculation.

I've had 3 urine analysis test and blood work and an ultra sound, all came back negative. There was a cyst they said on the top of my left testicle (where my problem is)...but they said that wouldn't cause a problem. I am wondering also, could that be the problem? Is it being aggrevated each time sperm is carried through...as would suggest being that my pain is only triggered by ejaculation.

I would really appreciate some help. I have a urologist appointment in 3 months, but thought I'd ask in the meanwhile.

Thanks!:)

Jim, it sounds like you're aggravating it when you masturbate. (Are you too vigorous? Do you hit your testicles with your hand?) It could be a chronic problem that needs more time to heal.

In the line " So then I didn't masterbate for another week, and then the problem came back." I meant to say that...I didn't masterbate for another week and the pain went away, then it came back after masterbating.

sorry about that.
