Gallbladder

Hello, Im only 15 years old and I have been having problem with my stomach for 3 years now. My doctor has just informed me today, that my gallbladder is only functioning 20% and I really need surgery to get it out of me.
How long does it take to recover from the lazor surgery and what scars does it leave?

The incisions will be about 1-1.5 inches long and there are usually 3 of them.  As long as you don't have any complications, you should be able to come home the day of your surgery.

You will be very sore for the 1st week, possibly by the 2nd week.  By a month after your surgery, you should feel much like yourself again.

If you have any more questions, let me know:  I've had this surgery before and I will answer anything I can.

they will do a surgery called a laparoscopic cholecystetctomy. the incisions will be about this big  ------------  there will be three of them and it will probably take two weeks before you feel really good(you will probably be able to come home the same day the surgery is done) but it will take probably three to four weeks for it to fully heal...look up laparoscopic surgery on the net...and best of luck and dont worry this is a very non-invasive simple procedure
