Started my period twice in the same week.

I started my period on Dec 15, it ended on the 18.. Which is normal timing. I started today the 20th again?! It's also dark dark and a little clumpy. What is wrong? Is it normal? Help! I am 16, and I am sexually active.

i always find the professional answers on this forum to be so extreme… seeing your doc is always good to do… i dont have the answer, but what the doc didnt say is that it could also be nothing…. this can happen. it doesnt necessarily mean something is wrong… if it were me, i would see what happens next month
good luck

Hi!
Polymenorrhea or bleeding from vagina more than once a month could be due to several causes such fibroids, adenomyosis (thickening of uterine wall due to the tissue lining the uterine cavity moving into its muscular wall), endometriosis, uterine polyps, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems and bleeding disorders. It could also be due to an IUD implant if you have one or due to oral contraceptive pills. It can also be a part of severe pelvic inflammatory disorder. STDs like Chlamydia and gonorrhea too can cause this. Another possibility is a miscarriage.
Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
