Your flat feet really aren't a reason for you to fall over; if it were people all over the planet would be falling over, after all, flat feet are quite common, my own husband has flat feet. Sunny, it doesn't sound like your joints are as big a problem as your muscles are. One of the problems my daughter had was Juvenile Rhuematoid Arthritis which is a disease of the joints; she also had a lot of problems with muscle weaknesss and still does to this day. Have you seen a neurologist to have your muscle weakness evaluated? Have you been sent to a physical therepist to help with building up your muscle strength? Those are two options well worth considering. My daughter was in PT for a year when she was 7 and it helped her. On a side note, My father grew up in England and as an adult I lived there for 7 years and still have close friends there; beautiful country!

i am not wheelchair bound and i do not do pe because i am homeschooled. i couldnt walk until i was three and a half years old because my muscles were so weak. the doctors and my mum called me a ragdoll because i was so floppy. my joints are as weak as a two year olds. and that is very weak. on th 4th of january 2010 i went to great ormand street hospital. they said that if i was two years old my joints would get stronger but because im fourteen years old they said that my joints wont get stronger on their own. i can only walk five minutes then my legs start to hurt really badly.my flat feet causes me two fall over and not keep my balance very well. i have no arch in my feet. when walking dopwn a flight of stairs my legs shake and hurt because they are so weak. in the past i had to have special insoles made for me and special soes made for me that did not work.and i am british so do not live in the usa. i live in england.

Hello again. Even though I live in the US, I have been to GOS in London and had a doctor there tell me my daughter's heart disease basically didn't exist; she ended up needing a heart transplant. Let's just say I do not have too much respect for that particular hospital. Your problem here is that you want someone to answer your question about having surgery; I don't know where you live, if you are living in England the protocol for doing this type of surgery, or due to your age, may be different then here in the States. The fact alone that you are still growing and just entering puberty may be a issue for doing the surgery. If you are going to your local doctors, you may want to see if you can see a doctor at a large university hospital which also has a children's hospital with it. When my children were young, they had a friend who had congenital rickets and her legs were horribly bent and they did do surgery on her and she was about 12 years old at that time. Her younger brother also had rickets and they did surgery on him as well. I don't know how bad your problem is, theirs was severe, they were really bad. We're talking about factors that may play into all of this and how severe your problems are would also be considered in doing surgery. Remember that to you, your problem is severe, to a doctor, it may not be because of the number of cases he sees every day. That is something you also have to consider. Are you wheelchair bound? Are you in PE?

Hello, The only way to know if surgery can help you would be to see an orthopedic surgeon. Have you considered that yet?
