Sorry!! Hit post accidentally!!!
And....
Feel nasty. ) they will open you up so they can get a look at your cervix (where the pap will be done). They will then take a little tool (vaguely resembles a rake) to scrape off some cells to take a look at later. This is the part that will be uncomfortable. It will probably feel like a pinch, or a very mild period cramp.
After that's done there are two more things, a quick check of your ovaries (inserts two fingers and pushes up while pushing down near your hips with the other hand) and an external check for anything abnormal (herpes, warts etc) just incase. After that they will leave, letting you put your pants back on. They may come back and talk to you, or you may be done.
At this point deep breathe!! You are done your first pap smear/pelvic exam.
Biggest suggestion is to take deep breathes the entire time it'll keep you calm. If you want you could probably have your mom, best friend, or boyfriend there to hold your hand and distract you. If you have any questions or anything, message me on my profile. I've been there and am willing to give pointers. Good luck!

They should explain everything before hand so you know what's going to happen. If at any point you are scared or unsure tell the doctor. They will stop and try to help you.
Basically what is going to happen is he/she will greet you talk with you for a bit, leave and ask you to take everything from the waist down. You can keep your socks on! And hop up onto the table with the paper sheet to cover you up. They will come back in, you will place your heels in the stirrups (or on the edge of the bed) and scoot your butt down to the edge (you will probably feel like you are about to fall off).
The doctor will then insert the speculum (it will possibly be cold and a shock, it will also be lubed up and
