Spotting

Question

Hi it's been about a week and a half after I had unprotected sex and today I had spotting. What could this be from? There is slight cramping in my lower abdomen and my period isn't suppose to happen until next week. I was fertil during sex and ovulated a few days later. Could I possibly be pregnant?

If you had unprotected sex during your fertile time, there will be a possibility  of pregnancy. Sperm can survive up to 5- 7 day inside the womb if the envrionment is suitable (during your fertile window). The spotting you have experienced may be implantation bleeding, what colour was the blood, did it continue for a day or two, or was it just a one bathroom trip kind of thing? Our periods are never going to be exactly 100% our entire lives, so it may be the beginnings of your period. Just remember the closer the spotting is to the date your period is due, the more likely it is your period. If it is implantation spotting, a test wont give you accurate resulats yet. I suggest waiting until the day before, or the day of your period to test with an Early Response kit. However if your period is more than a day late, test at free will. Just remember, if you get negative results and your period still does not come, go and see the doctor as they will probably give you a blood test to test for Hcg levels.

Thank you and it's like a brownish/red color. My period is not suppose to happen until the 15th of September and today is the 6th. I have been wearing a pad just so my underwear is clean and I never get cramps with my periods at all and I have had bad abdominal pain the past few days. I am a little bit bloated. When I get my period I am really heavy like two pads. But I am being really light and it only lasted like twe/three days. My periods usually last between 5 and 7 days depending on if I am under stress or what not.
