Stiffness in the muscles

Well I am nearly 26 years old & I have a very weired problem.

I have stiffness all over my body. Itz like this, if I am seated on a chair for more than 15 minutes at a stretch & then when I get up, from the chair I cannot move immdtly, I would have to wait for a while after standing and then only I can slowly start moving. This happens becauuse as soon as I get up from the chiar my leg muscles would have too much of stiffness in it & I cannot move around immdtly. And once I start walking after a while then itz fine, I can move around freely without any problem. Then the problem does not end here, the other problem is that if I get slightly exhausted, then in that case the stiffness would continue to be there at all times even while I am walking, & the muscle stiffness would keep on fluctuating(increasing or decrasing at times) due to which it is difficult for me to climb up the staircase.

Oflate this has also caused another problem. Itz just that if I am even working on my computer say for 30 mins at a stretch and someone comes over and suddenly asks me question, then now my mouth would have a kind of stiffness in it & I would not be able to pronounce words correctly & I would not be able to speak clearly. But if I still continue to try and speak for atleast 3 to 4 mins, then it becomes normal and my speech is clear.

I had shown this prob to a doc about 4 years ago & he recomended Eptoin 1 tablet (100 mg) to be taken twice a day so that works out to 2 tablets each day.

But now over the years my consumption has increased as the stiffness has alos increased, so now I have been taking nearly 5 tablets each day. & I have also tried stopiing the tablets completly for 2 days, but then my condition becomes bad and I cannot move around or speak. I tend to fall while trying to even walk.

Also to mention, when the body is in the stage of stiffness, there is too much of pain in the knee cap joint, pain in the back & probably if I try to speak whn there is stiffness, I would feel some kind of a pain in the throat. I also cannot sit on the floor, as when I was young, the only problem when I sat on the floor was that, when I needed to get up, it was difficult as there would be too much of stiffness in the body, but now it's just that if I sit on the floor my knee & the back bone would hurt badly. But I am comfortable on the bed/ sofa/ chair. So probably I need good  support while sitting & I cannot fold my legs while on the floor due to the pain. Also to mention when I bend say for example to pick up a paper that has fallen, I wud get too much of pain in the back & then the hurt would also hurt for a while.

Anyways, of all this problems, my main concern, is the stiffness in the muscles. Please suggest what can be done to get this fixed at the earliest. I am in India at the moment but I dont mind going anywhere in the world if there is a solution to get this prob fixed.

Thank you..

"Myotonia Congenita: A disorder characterized by delayed relaxation of the muscles after voluntary contraction"

Is that what you're talking about? A neurologist would be able to see what's going on better with an EMG

Thanks for your reply.

But I really cannot believe that this is got to do with a dental problem.

And secondly if it is a dental problem, then the same amount of stiffness should be around the whole body 24/ 7. But sometimes the stiffness in the body is too much & sometimes it's less.

Anyways, thank you for spending your precious time.

Have a nice day ahead.

Thank you..

If no answers come about, I would still have a dentist look at it, in case the joint has popped out of the socket. I had weak muscles for over a year and a half thinking I may have MS. But to my provail, my jaw had popped out of alignment. When one muscle is affected it could knock everything out. My legs were in agony, even though it was my jaw with the problem. And I had no pain with my jaw. Work that out? Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, but I do understand that this is not a dental problem, as it is got to do with stiffness of the muscles in my body.

Have a nice day ahead..

Seeing a rheumatologist is advised. I do'nt think dental profession can help you.
